Pirate Day

Ahoy, me hearties! Join us for a swashbuckling family day packed with pirate adventures at the National Tramway Museum.

Train to become a true buccaneer at Pirate School, hunt for Captain Crich’s Treasure Trail across the museum and claim your share of the treasure when you complete the quest. Get creative by making your own pirate hat, enjoy colourful face painting, and meet Woodies Wings’ magnificent parrots.

Take in live performances from The Stormy Weather Boys and The Shanty Tones as they fill the air with rousing sea shanties, then hop aboard our Pirate Tram, crewed by pirates who’ll have everyone singing along to classic maritime favourites.

Don’t miss the outdoor performance of ‘It’s a Pirate’s Life’ at the entrance (by the park) to the Woodland Walk, and remember to come dressed in your finest pirate costume to join in the fun. Whether you’re a seasoned sea dog or a young first mate, there’s adventure waiting around every corner!
