After a very serious teddy bear meeting, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic. ☔🐻
The bears have been watching the weather very closely and have decided that it’s not really picnic weather at all – they really don’t like the rain on their fur! 😢
With two whole days of setting up for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, they’d be spending four days sitting out in the rain… and quite frankly, they’ve decided that’s no fun at all! 🥺🌧️
But don’t worry – the bears aren’t going into hibernation just yet! They’re hoping to come back for their picnic on:
Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 October 2026 🧸🎉
We’re keeping our paws crossed that the weather will be kinder to us then!
Bring your own teddy bear and picnic for the National Tramway Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Sunday 30th and Bank Holiday Monday 31st August. Children who bring a teddy receive a free badge and the event is included in your annual pass.
See what our busy Teddy Bears are doing this year in our fabulous teddy bear trail from Wakebridge tram stop to Derwent View 10am – 4.30pm each day. This trail is nostalgic for the adults too!
Enjoy our join in picnic show with Amy Zing, plus live music for everyone on the bandstand with the 50s and 60s sounds of Rocks and Frocks.
Look out for Mr. Bear around site. Can you find our woodland teddy bear sculpture?
Head to the Octagon to make teddy hats between 10.45- 3.30 then get your face painted at the bandstand area.
