We understand the importance of access for all, so we have taken measures to ensure all of our visitors enjoy a great day with us whatever their ability.
Please see the information below to make your day with us as smooth as possible.
Concession Tickets
For Disabled Concession tickets and/or carer tickets, we kindly ask for any official documentation for proof of eligibility. Please click here for ticket prices. Without this proof, unfortunately a disability concession ticket cannot be given.
We understand blue badges are left on display in your car, if you have any other documentation this would be accepted. Alternatively, if you could take a picture of yourself with the blue badge, this will also be accepted.
While the sunflower lanyard is recognised for hidden disabilities by staff across the site, this unfortunately cannot be accepted as proof due to its commercial availability.
Accessibility
There are access ramps or lifts to all our visitor facilities. A “smoothway”, shown in the image to the left provides a smoother alternative to the cobbles for wheelchairs and buggies. Please click the image to make it larger to see.
Wheelchairs are available for hire from 10am until 4pm for a £10 deposit which is refunded when the wheelchair is returned. If you would like to book a wheelchair in advance, please contact us the day before you visit to check availability.
There are disabled toilets located at the Red Lion Pub, the Tram Stop Cafe, Assembly Rooms and at the Wakebridge Tram Stop (all highlighted in the map)
We do not have a changing places toilet, but for changing of older children and adults, please ask staff for access to the First Aid hut.
Access Tram mentioned in the map will be available from 12th September. The days it will be out following the launch are yet to be finalised but we will update this page as soon as they are.

Access Tram 2
Click here for Save the date – Latest information on our new Access tram
Built in the 1980s as one of Blackpool’s last ‘old generation’ trams, Centenary type tram 645 was generously donated by Blackpool Transport Services and tramway member Peter Whiteley said it is a worthy successor to ‘Erich’ Berlin 3006.
Access tram 2 – Blackpool 645 has many strengths – not least its robust construction, to take a centre lift capable of taking heavy wheelchairs, lots of seats, and one-person operation.
We have carried out a full refurbishment, including reinstatement of electronics installation of a special heavy duty wheelchair lift fitting out with new features for visitors with various access needs (Crich Tramway Village is very popular with over a sixth of our visitors self-recording as disabled or less able).
You can still help by making a donation. We’re also excited to announce our new partnership with the Derby Community Lottery, meaning you can support this fundraiser and at the same time have a chance to win cash prizes! See Derby Community Lottery. Please help us spread the word!
Accessible Parking
There are 13 accessible blue badge spaces located by the main entrance.
