Our popular Dinosaur Day returns for 2026 with a prehistoric adventure the whole family will love.
Explore two exciting dinosaur zones around the museum. Visit the Home of Herbivores at Derwent View, where you can meet the gentle giants including Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus, perfect for younger dinosaur fans. Then head to the Home of the Predators at the Bandstand Area, where fearsome T-Rex and Dilophosaurus will be stalking their territory alongside adorable baby dinosaurs throughout the day.
Join our Dinosaur Trail through the woodland walk, identifying hidden dinosaurs along the way. Pick up your trail sheet from the Octagon and, once completed, return it to the Learning Centre to earn your exclusive dinosaur sticker.
There’s even more family fun with face painting at the Bandstand Area and the chance to make your own Terry the Pterodactyl hat in the Learning Centre.
With live dinosaur encounters, interactive activities and unlimited vintage tram rides included with admission, it’s a dino-mite day out for all ages!
