Model Tram Running

On Sunday 21st April, the Robert Whetstone 1/8 scale Kinver Light Railway open-sided single-deck tramcar No. 50, will be running for the first time in over 35 years and there will also be a static display of his other model trams.

This is a model of a 1902 tramcar, built by the Brush Electrical Engineering Co. and mounted on Type B maximum traction trucks. Three tramcars of this type were built for use on the Kinver Light Railway and because of their open structure they were only used in the summer months until the line closed in 1930.The model was completed in August 1975 and took over 3500 hours to build.

The National Tramway Museum is currently looking after a collection of model trams made during the 1960s and 1970s by the late Robert Whetstone of Bromsgrove. Normal museum entry charges apply and opening times are 10.00am to 5.30pm (last admissions 4pm) both days. You can pay on arrival and return tickets can be used.
